Spring 2019

  • Thank you for your interest in joining Chabad at ChapmanLeadership Board.

    Chabad Student Board helps empower students to fulfill leadership roles and responsibilities in the campus community and society at large. We are committed to helping students explore and optimize their leadership potential by offering students project leadership and meaningful responsibilities. 

    All applications must be submitted by November 25th. 

  • LEADERSHIP POSITIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS

  • President

    • Leading weekly board meetings

    • Coordinating with Greek Life and working with the university administration to maintain organization and good relationships

    • Creating and printing agendas to distribute at meetings

    Vice President

    • Overseeing and managing board members and their committees

    • Doing weekly progress reports about committees and projects

    • Second to President

    Secretary (1)

    • Creating a monthly schedule with dates and times of planned events

    • Taking minutes at board meetings

    • Distributing notes to board members after meetings

    • Attending Friday weekly meetings at the Fish Interfaith Center

    Treasurer (1)

    • Handling money

    • Completing paperwork and funding request forms

    • Apply for funding

    • In charge of general budgeting and budgeting for all committees

    Tabling Chair (1)

    • Coordinating tabling reservations

    • Setting up and overseeing all tabling

    • Creating a schedule for tabling attendance

    • Finding non-board members who are interested in getting more involved with Chabad to table

    • 25live rep

    Shabbat Chair (2)

    • Finding students to help cook, set-up, and clean-up for Shabbat

    • Finding students to give a Dvar Torah (small speech) for Shabbat

    • Working to enhance the Shabbat experience at Chabad with new and creative ideas and themes

    • Working with the secretary to create a Shabbat event calendar

    • Working with the rabbi to plan and execute 250 Shabbat

    Public Relations Director (2)

    • Creating a monthly newsletter

    • Creating thank you note postcards event sponsors

    • Design event fliers, market and advertise fliers by distributing them on campus

    • Sending a weekly email with announcements to Dean Price and Interfaith center

    • Submit a report to the Panther (twice per semester)

    • Working on creating Chabad merchandise

    Social Chair (1)

    • Using creative skills to plan and execute social events such as Havdalah, bonfires, movie nights in and out of the Chabad house

    • Planning holiday events

    • Working with the secretary to create an event calendar

    • Working with social media chair to promote social events

    Social Media Chair (1)

    • In charge of running all social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram)

    • Advertising events on social media platforms

    • Strives to have an aesthetically pleasing online presence and working on new and original content creation

    Philanthropy Chair (1)

    • Finding volunteer opportunities within the Jewish community and encouraging members of Chabad to participate

    • Working with the committees to schedule and organize these events

    • Creating ways to fundraise for Chabad

    • Planning and directing the Chabad Match Campaign

    • Planning one large Chabad sanctioned philanthropy event (similar to Greek Life Philanthropy events)

  • GUIDELINES RELATING TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE EXCUTIVE BOARD

  • - Work together as a cohesive board to coordinate, design, organize, publicize, and implement events/programs

    - Be present at all events/programs when possible

    - Attend weekly board meetings, MONDAY 7:30-8:30PM

    - Actively promote Chabad awareness on campus

    - Stay alert for Jewish people and invite them to Chabad

    - Introduce yourself to new members and make them feel welcome
